Anuradha Jayaratne heads Kandy Table Tennis
Mr. Anuradha Jayaratne (Former President of the Colombo District Table Tennis Association) and three times National Champion Dilmini Direckze were elected President and Secretary of the Kandy District Table Tennis Association. Mr. Dayananda De Alwis was elected as the Treasurer.
Last year's committee spearheaded by Krishantha Karunanayake had organised three tournaments and two coaching camps.
The new committee has more ambitious plans with Mr. Jagath Rajapakshe as the Head Coach.
The Prime Minister Challenge Trophy Tournament will be worked off from September 13 to 15 at the Jagath Rajapakse International Stadium in Deluwa. A progamme has also been lined up to provide TT tables, rackets and balls to about 15 schools with the aim of developing TT in those schools.

Kandy District Table Tennis Association will conduct 2013 Prime Minister's Challenge Tropy Tournament from 13th to 15th September at Jagath Rajapakse International Stadium, Doluwa, under the patronage of Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage, The Minister of Sports.
There are several programs lined up for this day and newly elected President of the Association, Mr. Anuradha Jayaratne will provide TT tables, rackets and balls to about 15 schools with the aim of developing TT in those schools.
Many leading schools in Kandy District are expected to participate in this tournament. Mr. Balasubramaniam and Mr. Sunil Abeygunasekara will be the Chief Umpires for this tournament.
Hon. D. M. Jayaratne, The Prime Minister of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has extended his best wishes to the 2013 Prime Minister's Challenge Trophy Tournament.
Hon. Prime Minister, who also represented Parliament of Sri Lanka from Kandy District, has paid a keen interest in developing Table Tennis in Central Province for a long time.

Jagath Rajapaksha International Table Tennis Stadium
Sri Lanka's biggest table tennis stadium stands tall on a hill in Peradeniya. Jagath Rajapakse Tabel Tennis Stadium is also the only venue for Table Tennis in Sri Lanka with International Standards.
Its owner, national table tennis coach Jagath Rajapakse, says that the sports facility can accommodate 14 tables at any given time during a tournament. Now, this is a feature which none of the table tennis stadiums in Sri Lanka can match. The stadium is built in an environment friendly location and even asthma patients are reported to have not needed their medicine when training here..
